Editorial Review:
The most beloved designer of Country French interiors, Charles Faudree has been working his magic on homes domestically and internationally for more than thirty-five years. His fourth book, Charles Faudree Interiors, continues to reveal his versatility in classic and international styles, and showcases his newest signature country French interior-his own new cabin nestled in the Oklahoma countryside-along with a tropical island retreat, a chic metropolitan high-rise, and homes done up in Georgian, contemporary and ranch high style. Here, in his personal, engaging manner, Faudree walks us through the challenges and successes of his newest designs that prove French Country can keep its traditional spirit and still be modern, surprising and edgy.

Summary: A fan of Faudree, but not this book.
Comment: I have all of his books, and am a big fan.....but something is "off" about this one. Most of the interiors seem contrived, stuffy, and a little outdated. The warmth and charm of the usual "Faudree mix" has been, for the most part, replaced with rooms that have all the banal originality and personality of a hotel lobby or furniture showroom. Skip this one!

Summary: Among the best.
Comment: This is a great book, lots of photos and great ideas. I have all of Charles Faudrees design books, I am never disappointed. I loved seeing his home featured on " Home Acress America".

Summary: another treasured Charles Faudree book for my personal library
Comment: I found this book to be exactly on par with Charles Faudree's earlier books - his use of saturated color, grand rooms with a charming and cozy feel, lucious fabrics, accessories of beauty and occasional whimsy - all his signature work is there. Gorgeous photography as always and I love the shots of rooms from above and the format of 'sketches' of rooms preceding the actual photos. And, as always, his beloved dog is in many of the room photos - not because he was placed there but because he loves to be in the thick of things! If you have enjoyed Charle's previous books, you will love this one too. I find myself picking it up again and again.

Summary: Cluttered and Overdone!!! Yippee!!!
Comment: It's amazing how different people see things differently. The cluttered and overdone look of Charles Faudree is precisely what I adore about his decorating style. The fact that he can put so many things into a room and it still be comfortable and charming is the mark of a master. Actually, I thought this book tended away slightly from the maximum "stuff" of his other previous books. His use of color in this era of drab neutral everything is refreshing and sharp and in many of the rooms in this book, negated the need for so many accessories.

Summary: Not his best work
Comment: I was disappointed in the rooms pictured in this book. They seem to be cluttered and overdone. There was not the unique, charming, perfect sense of proportion and pleasing to the eye style that usually represents Faudree's work. This book does not come close to his first two books.
