Editorial Review:
When Two Knotty Boys, Dan and J. D., began teaching rope bondage together in 1999, they discovered that most people learn best when they're shown — close up, step by step, and repeatedly — how to tie basic knots and combine them into bondage techniques. It is this learning process that they duplicate in this book. With the help of world-renowned photographer Larry Utley, they use over 750 photos and captions to explicate the soup-to-nuts techniques for turning great knots into great bondage that is safe, sensual, attractive, and effective. Readers can learn at their own pace, review whole techniques at a single glance, or even lay it flat on the table (beside their blindfolded partner) and follow along as they tie. Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes appeals to those interested in improving the quality of their sex lives, not to mention aficionados of bondage and discipline/sadomasochism (BDSM), both curious newcomers and serious players alike.

Customer Rating: Summary: A good book for beginners Comment: This book is good for absolute beginners in bondage, but not exceptionally great. It's more directed at bondage for its own sake and less at BDSM relationships, which is great for hopefully aspiring bondage riggers like me. I don't have a partner, but I met a woman who agreed to act as a practice model. I tried a simple hand tie on her, and it worked great.
The problem with this book, however, is that it contains detailed instructions on both decorative, non-restrictive bondage and hardcore full-body sexual bondage, but hardly anything in between. I find restraining women fascinating, even without a sexual connection. But most of the actually restraining bondage in this book would require me to actually be in an active BDSM relationship.
Still, I recommend this book for people just starting out in bondage, for both couples and people just acquintated with each other.
Customer Rating: Summary: Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause Comment: Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause. This should make a great Christmas present. For the man who has everything that is. Now when they say she is tied up and can't come to the phone they ain't kidding! Customer Rating: Summary: Great Intro to Bondage Comment: This was the second rope bondage book I have purchased, but by far the best. The Two Knotty Boys make learning bondage fun. The ties graduate from beginner to fairly complex.
If you buy this book, consider buying the video too. Great addition and even more fun. Customer Rating: Summary: The best rope bondage book around! Comment: The Two Knotty Boys are the best around. Their book is carefully written and easy to follow. The book is sensual yet humorous. It's non-threatening and tastefully written, so if you are trying to get a newbie interested in this form of play then this is a good book to start with. Customer Rating: Summary: Bit disappointed Comment: The pictures and steps in this book are excellent. However I was somewhat disappointed by the books content which concentrates more on the authors own style of rope work rather than more traditional shibari rope ties I was expecting. If you are after more intricate knots and ties and not the traditional shibari then this book is excellent. However if you want to learn the more traditional shibari ties perhaps look elsewhere. It's a well done book but depends on what particular style of rope work meets your needs.
