Customer Rating: Summary: Annette Bening early performance in Mountain Man fleeing Justice True Story Comment: This rarely seen 1986 TV Movie stars Claude Akins, Rip Torn, and Matt Salinger. With Annette Bening in her first role. Based on the true crime story of CLAUDE DALLAS a Vietnam war draft dodger who became a survivalist and mountain man in Idaho and Ohio. In 1980 he shot and killed two game wardens while they were attempting to arrest him for multiple poaching infringements. Claude Dallas was convicted of murder even though he maintained that one of the officers drew his gun first. Claude Dallas became somewhat of a folk hero when in 1986 he escaped from prison Setting off a nation wide manhunt and eluding law enforcement officials for a year before being re-captured. Claude Dallas was revered and protected by people who sympathized with him because they too understood what is like to live off the land while hounded by state and local officials who control hunting.
This movie is rarely seen on TV. While not a thrilling chase action. It is still a poignant and unique movie. It was only released on home video vhs by PRISM entertainment. A video distributor that released more than a few true-crime and based on a true story TV movies like "TAILSPIN" and "VOYAGE OF THE ACHILLE LAUREL" Customer Rating: Summary: a young Brent Spiner... Comment: this is a good movie, well directed and played.
the most important thing for me was to see a young Brent Spiner who has a little role, but however he is the friend of the protagonist and he helps him to fly...
