Editorial Review:
More than 700 glow in the dark shapes to decorate ceilings and walls make this classic kit a fun and educational item. Measures 2"L x 9.5"W x 2"H. This Star Explosion kit allows children to create a universe in their own bedrooms. With over 500 glow-in-the-dark adhesive pieces to choose from (including stars of all sizes, comets, asteroids, and spiral galaxies), junior astronomers can create star displays, black-hole effects, and, with the aid of the included star map, actual constellations. There are 364 small (.25-inch to 1.5-inch) star stickers and about 200 larger (1.5-inch to 5.5-inch) plastic shapes that adhere to walls and ceilings with the putty that comes with the set (it's safe to use on most surfaces). The stickers and plastic shapes are made of Glominite, a safety-tested product that stores light. Each time the Glominite shapes are exposed to light, they recharge--so that the glowing keeps on going. --Kathryn Gustafson

Customer Rating: Summary: My room is awesome! Comment: My mom got me these stars for a school project. I got some poster puddy separate, and they stayed up. Once we turned the lights out, my ceiling looked beautiful! The glow lasts about 30 min. (maybe more). I also got a guide for arranging the stars in to constellations with it, and it was easy enough. This product is PERFECT for sleepovers! I have no complaints! Customer Rating: Summary: Don't stick too well Comment: There are a lot of items in this box and it takes quite awhile to put them up, but the effect is great. We did not have good luck with the sticky stuff provided and used scrap book glue dots instead, which worked a bit better. Our ceiling has some texture that makes them harder to stick on. If it was really flat, they would probably work ok. The plastic stars work well. The stickers are small and hard to get off the paper to stick on, but they do glow and look like distant stars. Customer Rating: Summary: Nice stars! Comment: I covered my son's room with these stars eight months ago and the stars are still on the ceiling. This box has enough to cover a 14x15 room and I had some stickers left. Its true that the sticky tack that comes with it is not enough but each star really needs a piece the size of a lentil, or even less if its a small star. I did have to use extra sticky tack used to put up posters and it worked great too. The glow in the dark feature is wonderful, it's lots of work to put them up, but the final effect is worth it. I can't leave my sons' room at night! Customer Rating: Summary: A Perfect Nightlight! Comment: I bought these stars about a month ago. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of stars included in this pack. It took me over two hours to put them all on my son's ceiling. All of them had a very nice glow and none of them were dull. There are so many stars that it's sufficient enough to be a low-glowing nightlight. My son now looks forward to going to bed when the lights go out so that he can see all the stars as he drifts off to sleep. The manufacturer does not include enough adhesive for the stars. Walmart sells poster putty in the office supply section for $.99, you will only need one. So far, not one star has fallen down and I don't expect them too for a very very long time. EXCELLENT PRODUCT! AWESOME PRODUCT! Customer Rating: Summary: Fun for kids Comment: We were very happy with everything that came with this product. The stars all glow very bright.
