Editorial Review:
1 Pint, Rust Bullet® Automotive - Our automotive formulation contains more metal than our regular formula, providing a smoother finish usually desired for automotive projects. A one step, two coat, simple to apply, low maintenance, super tough, high-performance, rust inhibitive coating. Covers approx. 25 sq. ft. with a two coat application - Metallic Gray

Summary: Seems good so far, coats VERY well, easy to paint with.
Comment: I used Rust Bullet on part of the undercarriage of my 1994 Mustang GT. I bought the car from the Pittsburgh, PA area, and they throw salt on the streets like it's nobody's business. So, the back of the car where road grime was kicked up has surface rust all over (no holes, though). I was debating between the Rust Bullet and the POR-15 products. I went with the Rust Bullet due to its lower prep work involved. With POR-15, you have wire brush, apply their cleaner, then apply their "Metal Ready" product, wash it off, then apply the paint. With Rust Bullet, according to the instructions, you clean off oils and loose particles, then apply 2 coats. For me, this seemed like a good choice considering the intended use of my car. This car is NOT a show car; it's a driver's car that sees occasional drag strip runs. I only wanted to stop the rust.

I applied the Rust Bullet with a sponge brush. The Rust Bullet coats unlike any paint I have used. It is VERY sticky (don't get it on your bare skin, or you will wear it for a few days). A lot of other paints I've used, when trying to paint metal with a brush, it leaves streaks. When the rust bullet touches a surface, it is stuck on there. There are no streaks because it adheres so well to whatever you are painting, so painting with it was very easy. My only gripe with applying the Rust Bullet comes in the second coat. When the Rust Bullet dries, it does not change color, so when you go to put on the second coat, you can't see where you are painting the second coat. You have to pay attention because it would be easy to miss a spot. A suggestion I would have is if you want to use black, use the silver for the first coat, the use the black for the second coat so you can see where you need to paint.

How good is it at stopping rust? I do not know. Only time will tell.
