Summary: Picture looks good but lacking
Comment: I received the product 3 days ago and let me say how excited I was. Took the product out of the box and the assembly instructions were the WORST to almost non-existent (a single sheet with a non-decipherable diagram). I had to go online to look on either YouTube or search for instructions with other types of drum set assembly. It was a headache but finally managed to put the equipment together.

I thought I got a good deal since it a nice looking drum set. But with all the patient fine tuning I done on the set...it still didn't sound like a quality drum set. You really do get what you paid for. The younger kids in my household love it though.

Summary: Great value for the money
Comment: I'm a middle-aged beginner, and was looking for an inexpensive set to learn on that I could upgrade over time. At first I was a bit apprehensive of this set due to mixed reviews and the low price tag, but I decided to give them a shot and have not been disappointed. I'm quite amazed at the amount and general quality of gear for the money spent. It is imperative that you replace the drum heads (I had fully intended to do so anyway) and take the time to tune them on both sides. Despite my best efforts to tune the stock heads I had to dampen them heavily with tape (even the resonant sides), but once I replaced the batter heads with Pinstripes (except for the snare which I went with a coated Powerstroke 3) and got them all tuned properly, they sounded great and no more tape needed at all. I'm still getting by on the stock bass head but will be replacing it very soon. The cymbals are so-so, though I rather like the sound of the 18" ride, and let's face it for this price the cymbals and extra stands are basically a freebie, you can't buy even the cheapest set of cymbals for less than $100. The hardware is reasonably sturdy, no complaints. The high hat stand spring is not adjustable but the stand and pedal seem sturdy enough. I found the bass pedal springs far too light for my liking but that was a cheap fix (10 bucks for a new pair of springs). These drums, with new heads, a little care in tuning and eventual upgrading of the cymbals to your taste, I think you will be pleased with what you get for your money. I'm giving 5 stars because for $299 I think this is an absolutely incredible value.

Comment: Ok. Overall, this is a great set for beginners and for people who are willing to get started with taking drumming seriously. Yes, there are better sets out there but this set is by far the quality ive seen for the price so im givin it 5 stars. The sound quality is great. A lot better than I expected. The cymbals are very long lasting but I do recommend you replace eventually with Sabian or Zildjian cymbals as it will sound substantially better. You may have to replace the bass drum head a couple times but thats not that big of a deal. The ride cymbal is great, its very durable and the hi-hat is decent only you may have to screw the bolt sometimes but overall id say this set is a great buy!!

Comment: This is good. It comes with cymbals that last REALLY long.... still havn't broke! Though if you switch them with Zildjian cymbals (which I did) they sound excellent. You have to put the Crash/Ride on the boom cymbal stand (stand with arm coming out). if you put a crash on it, the crash will flip down to much. The straight cymbal stand is excellent. The Hi-Hat cymbal stand is ok. You will have to screw the screw a lot! The boom arm is not excellent. If you hit the cymbal hard on it, it will tip sometimes. The heads are not very good. I've had this for three years, and I've changed the heads three or four times with Remo heads. The bass head rips after a year. I've switched it with Remo heads, too. For three years, way to go, Pulse! By, the way i'm ten years old, and a pro at drumming, and I'm in a band! Buy this!!!!!!!!
