The Motorola HF820 car kit is truly portable and requires no installation. Clip the HF820 on to your sun visor to create a car kit then when you reach the office simply wear the device around your neck or clipped on to your belt to continue your conversation as you leave your car. With an incredible five hours talk time and noise reduction technology, the HF820 provides freedom, advanced functionality as well as outstanding design.
While the HF820 is billed as an easy-to-install Bluetooth car kit, it's actually a versatile, portable speakerphone that works in every environment. Clip it to your car's sun visor for easy, hands-free communication while you're driving, wear it around your neck with the supplied lanyard so you can talk while you're out for a walk, or place it on your desk and you've got an instant conference call speakerphone!

The HF820 is designed to be simple to use with a minimum of fuss. A single multifunction button with a lighted call indicator controls all major call functions. Simply push the button to answer, end, and initiate calls and perform three-way calling and call hold functions. Meanwhile, the volume and on/off button controls speaker volume and gives you access to advanced call options. There's even a headset port so you can enjoy private conversations without the speakerphone.

Because the HF820 is Bluetooth enabled, it can connect wireless to any Bluetooth phone that supports the Hands-free Profile. In fact, the unit is built with the 1.2 implementation of Bluetooth, meaning it supports longer range, better connection times, and higher voice quality than the predecessor model, the HF800. The HF820 is also backwards compatible with phones that support the Bluetooth 1.1 implementation. With the HF820, you can be up to 10 meters away from your phone and enjoy crystal-clear conversations. Up to five hours of talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time on the unit's rechargeable battery mean you can talk all day. Additionally, charging is simple, as the unit uses the same travel and car chargers as most Motorola phones. And at only 60g, it's light enough to take along on any adventure.

Summary: A Little Gem
Comment: The sound doesn't match that of some higher-priced units I've seen: but that's the rub, they're all MUCH more expensive. At this price the HF820 is a little gem. Sound quality is fine for a unit smaller than the palm of your hand. Battery life is excellent. And unlike others I didn't find the pulsing blue light at all annoying, even right above my face on the visor.

Friends who've ridden with me--even those familiar with the Bluetooth concept--are amazed by the device.

Comment: Great product! Sound is very good and I haven't had any complaints from people on the other end of the line. Works great for me since I don't like having the ear piece variety on my ear while I drive. I just clip this to the visor and it works great. The newer version of this device is available from Motorola as well and it works just as good.

Comment: This device, which attaches to the visor, works pretty well. Conversations can be heard, both what the other person is saying and the microphone picks up what is being said it the car well. However, it does seems to require charging very frequently and therefore has not made the primary user very happy.

Comment: This item works but, as usual, there is some noise in the background to overcome.
It is worth the frustration however as my wife can now keep both hands on the wheel.
Works for extended periods and is reliable. Easy sync to phone.
Would purchase another and did.
