These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics' exclusive "Multipoint" technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices.

With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset's "smart" technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. Summary: This thing is a waste of good money.
Comment: It works fine when people call me, but when I call people it doesn't work 50% of the time. I use it for work, and when I have to call a client back because my headset doesn't work, that does not look good. I wish I could send it back because it was $75 of wasted money.

The bad:
* Horrible on/off switch.
* Not great volume control.
* Bad battery indicators.

All in all while it isn't the worst product, there is so much to improve here that I simply can't see why it was such a top seller on Amazon. Shame.

Summary: Great headset but not for everyone...
Comment: I bought this for my wife but had to return it. I loved it but she did not like the way it fit on her ear. Also tried the different ear pieces but to no avail. Great sound quality and all that. but no use if it does not fit well. had to replace with a Plantronics Discovery 665.

Summary: Disappointed
Comment: This is actually the second Plantronics Voyager 510 I purchased from Amazon. The first one was awesome. It was so good, in fact, that it ran through the washing machine and upon charging still worked great. Clarity in voice and reception were great. The second one; however, was not so good. I only purchased it because I lost the first one. I had read reviews from others who did not have such good luck with their second purchase of this item when the first was awesome. And yet, I gave it a shot anyway, becasue the first one was so awesome and durable enough to be washed and dried. But the second one is hard to hear and people on the other end complain that it sounds like I'm talking in a trash can and get a lot of background noise. With the first, there was virtually no background noise. I don't know what Plantronics did between the manufacturing batches but they need to undo it if they expect to maintain their reputation. After this second purchase, I wouldn't recommend this item to anyone.

Summary: Suvived a trip through the Laundry!
Comment: Besides all of the excellent performance features everyone else has mentioned like great sound in both directions, and comfort, this gets 5 stars from me for ruggedness. Being the goofball that I am, I put my cargo pants in the wash with the PL 510 in the pocket. Full laundry cycle and 50 min in the dryer, and I was hopping mad when I realized it. But because I am cheap and really didn't want to pay for another one, I put it on the charger, and boom! back in business. I can't remember the last time I was this impressed with the craftsmanship of an item.
