Comment: I live in California and the cost of this British monthly magazine here is $15.50. That is expensive for me and I'm not nearly at the level of expertise of most of the tutorials in this magazine but I can dream big when I read through it.

If you are buying it locally at a bookstore (I find it at Borders), it is hard to know when the magazine will arrive and when it might sell out. You have to be very careful that the free CD that is pasted inside on the rear page has not been stolen. These CDs contain nice free stuff (especially brushes)as well as the images you need to work through the lessons, and store customers steal them without buying the magazine. The mag will not ship you a replacement but I'm told that some of what is on the CD can be found from their website. (Shoppers...please don't steal the CD's, it keeps people like me from buying the magazine that month.)

I think this is the best magazine for photoshop enthusiasts on the market and it is well worth the high price. It is packed full of creative ideas and I even like reviewing the products that they advertise. They have a website at www.advancedphotoshop.co.uk

Photoshop Creative is another British monthly mag (same cost and same CD issues as Advanced Photoshop). Photoshop Creative is also an excellent magazine with challenging but less complicated tutorials. I would also give that magazine 5 stars. Photoshop Creative is probably the best one to start off with until you feel you are ready to make use of the more professional level Advanced Photoshop.

I intend to subscribe to both either via Amazon or directly from the magazine distributor and I'll get back with you on how that goes.

Comment: Frankly, i would give magazine maybe 4.5 stars if it would be possible, but will stick to 4 as it is more fair.

I buy this magazine from 18 issue and i pretty much like it, but magazine also changed from that time and i would not say to the best.
Last months magazines don't attract much attention, magazine become more pro-commerce (a lot and lot of advertising), istock commercials when we have pretty good free stocks as sxc.hu

At the beginning they placed the same tutorials in two of their magazine: Advanced Photoshop and Photoshop Creative. After some complain they avoid this confrontations.

Also i heard some people had problems with subscription. One American lady paid 100$ for year of subscription (strange price, but still) and after this she never heard from them.

I had subscription for a year. They didn't send me one issue. For 5 month (!!!) i was writing to them and asking when i can expect missed issue and they said they sent it five times, but seems our mail stills it (don't see other reason why it didn't come).

For price comparison:
- One issue in Europe (excl. UK) - 15 euro (in aeroports 17 euro)
- In UK one issue cost 6£ (so 12$ or 9 euro's)

If you really wanna a bit of creative inspiration maybe you can order small books they made from the most interesting tutorials or now they have e-mags DVD.

Comment: I love this magazine. The issues are always informative and exciting. You will find something for every level of experience in Photoshop. The magazine includes a CD with the files to follow the projects inside. This is a subscription I plan to renew.
