Customer Rating: Summary: First multivitamin I felt a difference Comment: I've tried several multivitamins over the years and I normally stop taking them before the bottle finishes. Now that I hit 40yrs old I'm really trying to be better about vitamins. What attracted me to Rainbow Light is it's natural and doesn't have any junk fillers like corn starch, corn syrup, etc. And I actually feel these vitamins doing something for me, first multivitamin that's done that before. Highly recommend! Customer Rating: Summary: Too Harsh Still Comment: I have a supplement regiment which I have been faithful to since 1992. I have learned on the path to balance, certain synthesis work better than others. Obviously, I am speaking for my own chemistry.
I thought I would try this particular mix, since it was highly revered here on Amazon. What a mistake! Something about the formula turned me into a beast over a couple weeks. Some chemistry's can't cope with certain synergistic combinations, or the synthetics used. Rainbow Light choose to use cyanocobalamin for B12, whereas the best vitamins use methylcobalamin which is natural to the body. I stopped taking it after a couple weeks when I noticed I was intolerant and short tempered. Was back to a normal temperament almost instantly.
When biochemist Lyle MacWilliam was commissioned by the Canadian Minister of Health to develop a new regulatory framework, they committed to over six years of research testing up to 1,000 multi-vitamin brands. They quickly eliminated 480 for definitive reasons. Of the 510 left, only 8 made the grade above 95% acceptance. USANA Health Sciences Essentials (U.S.) was first; Douglas Laboratories Ultra Preventive X was 2nd; Vitamin Research Products Extended Plus; Source Naturals Life Force Multiple; Source Naturals Elan Vital; USANA Health Sciences Essentials (Canadian); FreeLife Basic Mindell Plus; Life Extension Foundation Life Extension Mix. The last one made the most sense to me after studying the synergistics. These top contenders will cost between $40 and $60, but you do get what you pay for in this arena.
This reviewed Rainbow Light product ranked only at 369th place in Dr. Lyle MacWilliam research! Customer Rating: Summary: All natural and mostly complete Comment: Overall, I like this vitamin. I like it being natural and it has a host of ingredients a lot of others leave out. Like mentioned elsewhere though, don't take it on an empty stomach. I've learned to take it after eating my breakfast. It also doesn't taste very good and is a big pill, but that's all right. It's a small price to pay for a 100% natural product. Customer Rating: Summary: The BEST! Comment: My husband, who was never great at taking his vitamins, says these are the best ever, he actually feels better and with more energy. I take the Women's version and I love them as well. They are all natural and have extra B vitamins as well as others. FYI, they are large pills, they don't taste the best and just a word of caution, never take them on an empty stomach, it could make you nauseous. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Multivitamin for Men! Comment: I ordered these for my husband, when we decided that we wanted to try to have a baby in the near future. I'd ordered the Rainbow Light prenatal vitamins for myself, and when I saw that they had a multivitamin for men that promotes a healthy reproductive system...I thought that it was worth a try! Especially since we'd been looking for a good one-a-day multivitamin, regardless of our conception plans. So, it took a little while for them to arrive in the mail, & even though they were listed as being in stock, it took a couple of days before they mailed them out to us...
However, with that aside...it was worth the wait! The price is great, for the quality. They're a little more expensive than some other brands, but the saying is true...you get what you pay for! These vitamins are all natural, and they are made from food/plants rather than from synthetics...which is great! They have the d-alpha instead of the dl-alpha...which is really hard to find in a muti-vitamin these days, (and what that means is that it contains the natural form of vitamin E, and not the synthetic form that most multivitamins have).
It's also low in iron, which is IMPORTANT for men, especially since iron can cause a whole slew of health problems for men. It doesn't contain any preservatives or dyes, or other unnecessary ingredients, and yet it contains a lot of the essential ingredients! My Husband has no problem taking them each day, and he hasn't had any side effects what-so-ever. He said that he would highly recommend them...and we both highly recommend the Rainbow Light brand, on a whole! We will continue to buy this brand, again and again and again. :)
