Customer Reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: relatively good shave but wished i tried another razor Comment: i think for the value, this shaver is decent. still paid around 50/60 with shipping. however, this shaver is very simple, no bells and whistles. i used the earlier model before this one and i think i liked the other one better. overall though, i think you can do worse; the battery is very good on this shaver as well Customer Rating: Summary: Remington Razor Comment: The Remington Microscreen rechargeable razor is a good product. It gives a close shave if you insure that you've covered all areas thoroughly.
It does leave some longer sthat lay down against the face which you have to go back and cut with the trimmer. Following a 24 hour recharge the battery stays charged for about a week before needing to be recharged.
Overall, I'd say that Remington Microscreen 500 is an 8 out of 10 when compared to a blade. It's quick and easy. Customer Rating: Summary: Doesn't replace a blade Comment: I have had Remington razors before and have generally felt them to be superior to the Norelco brand. This particularly model seems equivalent to a Norelco.
The shaver is loud which is really no big deal.
It also leaves a lot of beard and for me requires touch up with a blade. Also I generally have to shave a long time with it each day.
The problem could be my technique or some other error on my part. However, I not impressed with this razor. Customer Rating: Summary: Almost as close as a blade Comment: I purchase this item base on Consumer Reports recommendation and price. As stated in the report, the shaver is a little noisy but it does give a very nice close shave. I used it a few times going to work because I was running late in the morning, very convenient. I would recommend this product. Customer Rating: Summary: Great shaver, better than my last Remington Microscreen Comment: When my 6-year old Remington MS3-3000 foil shaver needed replacement, I looked long and hard at what to buy. Strongly considered a rotary shaver but after consulting Consumers Reports - decided to stay with a foil shaver. While the MS2-390 has 'only' two foils instead of three and has no battery fuel gauge I took a chance on this shaver. GREAT choice. It shaves better than the MS3-3000 did new, providing 20 days of shaving on its first charge. An important feature to me is the ability to leave it plugged in while charging without worrying about over-charging and on that score, the unit actually has an undocumented feature - the green charging light blinks when charging is complete so you don't have to guess at that. Neither the Remington website, or their owner's manual admit to this feature but it is definitely there. After a month now, I am very happy with this purchase. The bonus? Six years after my first Remington Microscreen, this replacement was half the price of what I paid in 2002.
