INDICATIONS: Features of Trident Sugarless Gum with Xylitol: Artificially Flavored. Green Apple Fusion Flavor. ReCaldent. Milk Derived. 35% fewer calories than sugared gum. Calorie content for this serving size has been reduced from 8 to 5 calories. Trident uses sugar alcohols with intense sweeteners to make tasty gums without the sugar other brands rely on for taste. And it has Xylitol, which has been shown to reduce plaque and protect against tooth decay (1, 2, 3 & 4). In fact, Trident is so good for your teeth that 4 out of 5 dentists would recommend Trident sugarless gum for their patients who chew gum. Xylitol is a sugar-free sweetener derived from natural sources, and is also produced in the human body as a by-product of a normal metabolism(1).
Customer Reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: no aspartame here Comment: most trident brands do contain aspartame, but not this one. i assume the previous reviewer just put the same flame on all of the trident he found on this site. i cannot tolerate aspartame and searched for a long time before finding this one. i am looking at a package right now and there is no aspartame listed for the trident green apple fusion, nor is there any warning for phenylketonurics that alerts you to the presence of aspartame (for me, it's easier to look for the warning label which is required to be very visible instead of searching down the list of ingredients which is often in little letters). ingredients: sorbitol, maltitol, gum base, mannitol, xylitol, natural and artificial flavoring, less than 2% of: acacia, acesulfame potassium, bht (to maintain freshness), blue 1 lake, candelilla wax, glycerin, soy lecithin, sucralose, titanium dioxide (color) and yellow 5 lake (please pardon any misspellings - i tried to get it as exact as i could). no aspartame or nutrasweet there, no sirree. Customer Rating: Summary: Most Trident gums if not all have aspartame. Comment: It is possible that the spearmint brand of Trident gum has no Aspartame but I know that all other flavors have Aspartame. I bought boxes and just checked and they all have Aspartame which despite all the propaganda and spin is not safe, it is part of Donald Rumsfeld's toxic legacy. They are now in my garbage can. Do your research. Notice the description for this item, "with intense sweeteners". I suggest you don't buy something without knowing what is in it.
