Real Flame is a smokeless, environmentally-friendly wood fire substitute. It produces no sparks, odors, or ashes. One single can of Real Flame burns up to 3 hours, but can be shut off and/or re-lit at any time! Two cans of Real Flame gel produce up to 3,000 BTU's per hour. Since there is no chimney, heat stays in the room -- that means 100% heat efficiency (however these are primarily decorative and not recommended as a heating device). Real Flame gel is composed primarily of isopropyl alcohol and thickeners. Comment: I love this stuff. For those folks who find it expensive, consider this -- no chimney to clean, no risk of a roof or chimney fire (I live in an old house), no need for increased insurance, no wood to chop or purchase. All in all, I consider it a reasonable value. Not to mention that it's better for the environment than burning wood.

Comment: Wonderful product. Puts out great heat with no smell. The crackling sound helps with the mood of a real fireplace. You can use up to 3 cans at a shot but I've only ever needed one at a time. They last about 3 hours. I've tried other brands but they don't burn as clean, as long or without smell.

Comment: These "real Flame" cannisters are larger than the ones I previously ordered (but cannot recall their name at the present time). You will be very happy with these, they make the crackling sound and actually do throw off some heat. Many of our friends ask if we can put one on as they also enjoy the "fireplace". I bought my fireplace (corner one) from the Target online website. Absolutely love it.
