Customer Rating: Summary: Good for completely new djs Comment: Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible, and for the price it is definitely worth it if you are just starting out. But, if you've had any experience prior to this purchase you might get bored unless you love reprogramming. I have dj'd on turntables for a few years and I wanted to try it on the computer, so I bought this, but the jog wheels are extremely stiff, and the controls, to me, are counter intuitive. It took a while to get used to the eq being horizontal. And I tried the mic. Not worth the extra weight, it had really bad noise on it. Granted I'm using it on a mac so pc could be better but you'd definitely need to upgrade to traktor 3 to get any use out of the software on mac, but I'd rather return it and get something more intuitive. If you have a little more money and are just getting started buy the numark total control. Much better and will be easier for you to move to other mixers if you decide to upgrade. If you have a lot more money buy the m-audio xponent. It's way better and doesn't seem like it'll need an upgrade for a while. Customer Rating: Summary: You get what you pay for... Comment: The Behringer B-Control Dee-Jay is an inexpensive mixer for the laptop DJ. You can adjust pitch, volume, launch fx, and customize much of the control surface...
I spent a few hours getting all the midi setup with my G4 running Traktor 3 Pro, as it comes with a LE version of Traktor and the MIDI setup doesn't rollover. I spent a few more hours trying to find a file that already had the MIDI setup I wanted, to no avail.
Then I found that it was glitchy, and not just in a few ways. The Phones Volume and Master are hardwired, which could be good except that the mix and master levels are supposed to be contained in the Traktor software. Many components don't work near as well as they should, and it may just be shortcomings to Traktor the software, and not so much the Behringer board itself.
For the price, I encourage you to check it out, and try it with other DJ mixing software. For myself, I'm sending it back, saving some extra dough, and getting a Torq Xponent. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Comment: Great product,I took the risk that It wouldnt work with windows vista but it finally did with deckadance. Great product, great weight, great kmobs. Heavy-duty wise I dont think its the most durable product ive seen but you get what you pay for and I think 150 is worth for what it is. Customer Rating: Summary: An amazing piece of gear that when properly used will take a dj from the bedroomand into the club Comment: Naysayers and Bashers either don't know how to use the software or are just looking for the wrong product. Sure, the scratching in this product is mediocre. But if you're looking for a pair of decks with excellent sound quality and good mixer with decent beggining to intermeddiate effects LOOK NO FURTHER. Its got decent jog wheels to cue up, nice 3 band eq section with total kill (several $600 mixers dont have total kill), track search, pitch bend, looping, a deciated cue section, and even a mic input!!!
Trust me i've used this at two paid gigs so far. One at a large venue and one at a smaller club, and the bcd3000 does not dissapoint. Sound quality is excelent and the mixes i perform sound equal or better than the mixes other dj's perfrom with denon or pioneer decks.
A few notes though...Traktor Le is useless...for this product to work great you need to get traktor 3. The other things the layout screen in traktor migh have some problems but this is easily fixed. Manual beatmatching is harderbecause of the smaller pitch sliders so im just tempted to use the magic sync button all the time.
So yeah, well it aint perfect, but the reason i boast about it its because FOR $144, THIS THING IS WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD. Trust me you won't regret. Hell i might even pick up another one and do 4 deck mixing
Customer Rating: Summary: Nothing special, nasty problems Comment: Although I have had better luck with other Behringer audio products this one was a let down for me. Neither of the dials on the unit I received spun smoothly. In fact they both jammed so hard at certain points in their rotation that it was hard to even move them without significant force, making the product completely useless. You won't find the nice endless rotary controllers or motorized faders from some of Behringer's other controllers here either, and there really is nothing outstanding about this unit I can mention other than its layout is a nice match for NI Traktor DJ.
For the record, I'm returning mine for a refund. I would have simply exchanged it if it had any redeeming qualities, but Behringer will have to work harder on this one I'm afraid.
