Editorial Review:
Drysol Dab-O-Matic is a topical treatment for excessive sweating (hyperhydrosis) of the arms, hands, and feet. It also eliminates the unpleasant odour associated with this condition. For patients suffering from hyperhydrosis, or patients whose jobs or sports activities cause excessive sweating that exacerbates other skin problems, Drysol D-O-M is the solution. The active ingredient in Drysol is aluminum chloride hexahydrate.

Customer Rating: Summary: Life Saver Comment: Trust me, this product is the only thing you can get your hands that will actually work!
I've tried every over the counter deoderant, searching for the highest anhydrous rating and it never ever worked. I tried soaking wash cloths in Iso. alcohol and saran wrapped them against my arm pits in hopes of stopping my hyperhydrosis. What is wrong with my sweat glands?!
So a friend recommended drysol two years ago. I went to a doctor, get a prescription form for drysol and picked it up at rite aid. WOW. Biggest difference ever.
I've been using drysol on and off for 2 years now. The little bottle (35 ml) will last at least one year. I just recently bought my second bottle online, WITHOUT a perscription.
This is the only thing I have EVER seen work. Keep in mind, this little bugger will burn and irratate the crap out of you for a couple nights. DO NOT GIVE UP! Believe me, it is worth not sleeping well for a few weeks to have armpit dryness. If you disagree, chances are you haven't been living with nasty over sweating armpits for very long.
This product isn't for people who sweat "too much" while working out or whatever, this is for us day to day folks who sweat sitting still, who sweat when not nervous, who sweat when its freezing cold out, for people who have to wear big sweaters and undershirts in hopes that the sweat stain doesn't show...and it doesn...on every color but black!
If you want wear greys, light blues, normal shirts and colors again, spend the 18 dollars to get this stuff (it used to be over 30 for the same size). The tiny bottle lasts a while, and you don't need it every night, just for the first week every night. Then calm it down to every other day, then after two weeks, use it every so often.
As an important note. This HAS NOT cured my over sweating. It has not erased it completely from my life. Once I stopped using drysol for about 3-4 months after "regular" use, my hyperhydrosis started up again.
This is the only solution that seriously works for now.
Your options:
a) Sweat like normal...well not really normal, but sweat like YOUR normal
b) plop 20 bucks into this product -> No more embarassing stains for about a year....hmmm...spend 20 and get what i want...dont spend twenty, laugh and say this will probably never work, and keep on keepin on
Customer Rating: Summary: DRY PITS! Comment: Love this product! I only have to apply it once a month, instead of once a week, and I am sweat-free. I recommend it to anyone who is self conscious about their sweat in public. Customer Rating: Summary: Magic Sauce Comment: This product is named Drysol, but I call it MagicSauce.
For decades I had this strange problem where my left underarm would sweat a lot for no apparent reason, while my right side didn't sweat much. The usual store bought anti-perspirants didn't stop me from sweating. So I usually had to live with wearing a shirt that was wet under my left arm. Just recently, I thought to search on google for other accounts of people that had the one underarm sweating problem.
I found mentions of a product called Driclor, which as it turns out, seems to be the exact same product as Drysol, but with a different name. I was about to order a container of Driclor from a place in Australia, when I looked online further, and saw a mention of Drysol. I discovered that I could order Drysol from a location in Canada, which should arrive faster than something that had to be shipped from Australia to the United States.
I would describe the container of Drysol as a stubby version of the markers used to mark bingo game cards. It isn't exactly a roll-on, but a slide on. But the product inside is what I am here to talk about. Drysol immediately and completely stopped my underarm sweating! Wow! Just WOW!! Like magic! I am wondering why the FDA hasn't allowed this to be sold over-the-counter in the United States.
Well no matter where you need to get Drysol or Driclor from, just get it. Some posters online had complained of itchiness after applying Drysol, but I felt nothing...except relief.
I just wanted to edit this review to add that it has been two weeks since my one and only application of Drysol, and I have not sweated even one drop in two weeks!!! I don't know what to do with the remaining 98% of Drysol that is left in the container. Maybe I will bronze it. Customer Rating: Summary: Drysol Works for Stubborn Sweating Comment: Drysol is a heavy-duty 20% aluminum chloride solution that shuts down the sweat glands by shrinking them.
I always thought this was a prescription product, and am amazed that it is offered here on Amazon without a doctor's prescription.
I have used Drysol on my underarms (two treatments a week is all that is needed), and on my hands for palmar sweating. In the case of palmar or plantar (foot) perspiration, it works best if the Drysol does not dry out. Therefore, I apply it at night before bed, and then cover the area with a plastic bag. This somehow allows the Drysol to penetrate the tissues more thoroughly and affect more sweat glands.
I use Drysol on my hands and feet about 3 times a week and they stay fairly dry.
If you have really problematic sweating, this is a good product to try. Follow the directions carefully to avoid skin irritation.
Jim Koenig Customer Rating: Summary: Life-changing and effective Comment: I've been suffering from excessive sweating since I was 11. As a girl, this was really embarrassing. I didn't want to raise my hands in class and I always wore dark colored shirts/tops. I tried nearly every "so-called" strong product. I even tried mens deodorants and NONE of them worked. When I turned 17, I finally had enough and went to the Dermatologist and he prescribed me Drysol. I've been using it ever since and my life has since changed. The only complaints I may have, is the itching. I suggest that, if it itches while the Drysol is on, DON'T SCRATCH it, cause it will only get worse. But overall, this is the only product by far that has EVER worked for my excessive sweating and I like it!!
Whoever invented this product, is my life-saver :)
