Summary: Horrible Design
Comment: As with every other surge protector I ever bought, this unit has not caught fire. The design, however, is horrible. The vertical alignment of plugs disregards modern technology. A simple phone charge occupies two places on the strip. I am only able to plug in my phone, computer, and a lamp without using all the available space. I guess if you were plugging in Christmas lights this would be okay, but it is entirely useless for a dorm room, apartment, or home media center. Don't buy it.

Summary: No fires, it's awesome
Comment: I use one of these and it hasn't caught on fire. Their claim is true, and I can atest, my home has not caught on fire with this cord.
