Editorial Review:
Need a good rechargeable lantern for camping or emergencies? Look no further than the Garrity KP052 rechargeable crank lantern. Boasting 16 white LEDs and four red LEDs, the lantern blazes brightly should the power go out or the campfire grow dim. The lantern offers two different charging options: a hand crank or an AC/DC adapter. The hand-crank option is terrific for when you're nowhere near a power source, such as while camping at the beach or fishing before the morning light. The AC/DC option, meanwhile, will keep your lantern charged for emergencies, so you can just grab it and flick it on during hurricanes, tornadoes, or ice storms. And should the rechargeable battery run low but you need instant power, you can run the lantern on three AA batteries (included).
The KP052 is more than just a lantern, however, as it also includes a cell phone charger port and a built-in AM/FM radio. As a result, you can keep your cell phone juiced even during extended power outages while listening to the latest news updates on recovery efforts.

Customer Rating: Summary: Very nice product Comment: This is a very nice product. Lots of bells and whistles for an affordable price. One minute crank will run radio for about 20 min. Durable also and easy to use crank. Customer Rating: Summary: Lantern Comment: Battery life seems to be pretty good, but the crank doesn't last too long. The light is very bright though. Customer Rating: Summary: Good for power outages Comment: Provides a decent (not great) amount of light, good enough for sitting around a table during a power outage. Radio works pretty well. Good for backup during a power outage or for outdoors use. Customer Rating: Summary: Rechargeable - great, crank power - a disappointment Comment: I think its a nice little lantern - compact, good radio and the light is decent. I bought one after a power outage at the beginning of this year and I've been using it on a daily basis since it arrived. I love my garrity crank flashlight but I am disappointed in the lantern. The lantern runs a long time off a charge but takes a lot of cranking to keep even a dim light once the battery runs down. Then the little knob broke off the crank so now its just a rechargeable. I think it can be fixed but haven't followed up on that yet. Customer Rating: Summary: Hard to Crank Comment: Not bad for an emergency light, but the crank is very uncomfortable to use, especially if you have to use the crank for any length of time.
