Customer Rating: Summary: Jabra BT-8040 bluetooth Comment: I purchased this bluetooth for my daughter after her previous one was stolen. She loves this bluetooth. She has small ears, and the bluetooth works well for her. She can have the bluetooth dial numbers by verbal instruction which is a bonus for her. I am not sure this works for all cell phones, but she has a Blackberry and the feature works with them. Customer Rating: Summary: Great little bluetooth headset! Comment: I was looking for a bluetooth headset that was small and had good sound quality, and this little guy delivers. It was very easy to pair with my phone, the sound quality is really good (both for listening and for others listening to you), and the fit is good. The only concern I have is that the device is so much smaller than my old headset, I'm afraid I'll lose it. Customer Rating: Summary: Lightweight, no ear pain, good sound quality Comment: I hate having anything in my ear for any length of time. This little Jabra BT-8040, however, fits so nicely and is so lightweight, it is almost unnoticeable. It "rests" in the opening of the ear with a compressible loop design that snugs it up. It comes with several size earpieces, too. The controls are easy to work, and the light code indicating on/off and low battery are easy to interpret. The sound is good, even in the car. It came with a USB charger (which I keep at work and plug in if I notice I've been using the phone a lot) and a plug-in charger (which I keep at home and use overnight). It seems to hold a charge for at least 3 hours of use time, but I can't be more specific since I don't talk on the phone all that long.
THE ONLY PROBLEM I can see is that it is so small that I am afraid I will lose it. Maybe I'll figure out how to make it into an earring.
Also, since it hides neatly under my hair, I must look like a total idiot talking to myself when I use it (but doesn't everybody???)! Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Product - Very Happy Customer Comment: This product is excellent. I had gone through four different brands and models before a friend recommended the Jabra BT 8040. The sound quality is top notch. Customer Rating: Summary: Pleased once I turned off A2DP. Comment: The sound is great. Nobody complains about it from the other end, some don't even realize I'm on bluetooth. Easy fit. Stays in. Easy to use.
CONS: I had very short battery life, like only a few hours of standby. Thought I was going to have to send it back. But, I discovered my cellphone was A2DP compatible and the earpiece was pairing in A2DP mode--in other words, it was constantly "off hook" and never in standby. I don't listen to music from my phone and I discovered a way to pair it sans A2DP mode. Now, the battery life is as claimed. The user manual should explain this, but doesn't.
The only other issue is sometimes the phone keeps toggling back and forth from sounds to earphone and to the phone. Don't know if it's the earpiece or the phone. I've discovered a workaround that works most of the time is make sure the earpiece if connected and you're getting sounds from the phone before placing a call. It never happens when answering.
Otherwise, I'm very happy with it. Sounds good. Stays put. Easy to use. Good battery life.
