Summary: LOOK NO FURTHER!!!!!!
Comment: First of all I want say that this factory refurbished product came in like it was brand spanking new, not a scratch or blemish in sight which kind of surprised me. It also worked beautifully right of the box, very simple to use and an easy software installation to provided a plethora of upgrades and customizations. The only complaint I have is that there was no voice recognition feature which I was looking forward to use, apparently the U.S. version of the 720 has this feature omitted which for the life of me don't understand WHY?????????

I will definitely buy more refurbished products from Amazon which I've been very happy so far.

Comment: I'm very happy with the Go 720. I already have a Go 510 and wanted the slimmer unit and text to speech on the 720. The refurb looks and works like a new unit. The coupon code in the box for a free latest map (LMG) download didn't work, but TomTom provided the update with zero hassles after a quick phone call and upload of my invoice. I now have Navcor 8.3 and US maps 815.2019 installed. I downloaded the "Kate" UK English computer voice (I admit, I'm an old guy and like being given orders by a British woman). Some street names are pronounced a bit awkwardly, but most are excellent. Some pros and cons:

Pro:
- Very solid, quality feel
- Excellent display with quality graphics
- As with my previous Go 510, I really like TomTom's ability to plan complex itineraries, review the entire route, and save/recall the itineray. Unless I could confirm that another brand has comparable capability, I would only buy a TomTom due to this one feature. I've used a Mio C220 which has comparable itinerary capability but no save/recall, and a Magellan 2200T which has the save/recall, but is lousy for reviewing the route. From what I've read, Garmins can only handle a single via point which I don't consider a "complex itinerary".
- I like the minimalist windshield mount. I plan to take this system with me when I fly out of town and then get a rental car, and this windshield mount takes up less packing space than most.
- I'm very happy that it uses a standard mini-USB power cord - one less unique power adaptor to lug around.
- I have to give TomTom support a good review. In two phone calls, I had near zero hold time and spoke with competent, understandable people.

Con:
- As others have found, the small windshield bracket doesn't work well with a dashboard beanbag mount. I like using my beanbag for local use in my own car, so I may have to invest in an aftermarket bracket for that.
- While getting the latest maps was pretty painless, it would have been even easier if the LMG code in the box had worked.
- A minor gripe, but I wish the volume control weren't burried two menus deep, and like someone else mentioned I wish TomTom would use feet/miles instead of yards/miles for their USA-English distance units.

Comment: This GPS unit worked as advertized and a great deal. I am still learning how everything works, but I have used it on one trip of about 100 miles and it worked very well. I really like the hands free feature and was very pleased with the quality of the sound. The voice coming from the internal speaker is loud and clear. The 4.3 inch screen is easy to see and is really bright and clear. I am not sure how the FM transmitter works yet, but it is a pretty cool feature. I wish I had bought this GPS sooner, it is going to make travel much simpler.
